Linovision EOC-Converter is a combination of Power over Coax (PoC) and Ethernet over Coax (EOC) converter. With proprietary ePOE technology, it is designed to transmit both PoE power and ethernet data over coaxial cables or twisted pair cables, including siamese cable, CATV cable, power cable, Cat5E/Cat6, etc. The max transmission distance can be 3,300ft. Application in Elevator

For many elevators there are no ethernet cables and no camera powers in the elevator cart, LINOVISION EOC converters are perfect for this application. It can transmit POE power and IP data over coaxial or twist pair cables. One passive EOC-transmitter will be put inside the elevator cart to feed the camera or signal board, and one EOC-receiver will be in the control room, powered by POE switch/POE injector/POE NVR. For multiple elevators application, one EOC-Switch08 or EOC-Switch24 will be put in the control room, working together with max 8 elevators.

Use Tips

Use good quality IEEE802.3at 30W PoE switch to provide POE power to our EOC-Receiver, preferred with the DC53V input voltage, instead of regular 48V input voltage. Please also check the PoE budget of the PoE Switch, and make sure that the port individually can output 30W PoE power. (Most PoE Switches in the market do not support all ports at 30W POE output). Use point-to-point direct coaxial cable. The cable and connector quality will heavily affect the transmission distance. Please make sure to connect EOC-Receiver to the POE switch, and then connect the PoE cameras to the EOC-Transmitter side. The PoE output from the EOC-Transmitter is PoE mode A (use Pin 1,2,3, 6 for both data and power). If your PoE device is PoE mode B, please use our POE-Splitter or PoE-Extender02. The PoE output is standard IEEE802.3af/at PoE, and not compatible with 24V passive PoE devices.

Q.What kind of cables can be connected between EOC transmitter and EOC receiver?

It can transmitter ethernet data and POE power over coaxial cables, twist pair cables, power cables, video cables or almost any two-pin cables.

Q.Can multiple devices be connected via single coaxial cable?

A.

Yes, one pair of EOC converter can be used to transmit multiple device over single coaxial cable with NVR/POE switch/WI-FI AP. The connection will be multiple device -> NVR/POE switch/WI-FI AP -> EOC Transmitter -> Coaxial cable ->EOC Receiver -> POE NVR/POE Switch/POE Injector with internet. Please note that the EOC receiver has to be connected to an POE NVR or POE Switch to be powered.

Q.Will this work for extending connectivity between a router and an Ethernet switch? Or extending WIFI?

A.

Yes. But you need a POE injector in EOC receiver side to provide power to EOC receiver and EOC transmitter. It is recommended to use 56V 30W POE injector.

Q.What’s the maximum load capacity of this EOC Converter?

A.

The maximum load capacity is 21W in 300ft transmission which is sufficient to power a regular IP PTZ camera. The load capacity can be at least 11W in 1000ft transmission which is sufficient to power most of IP cameras.

The maximum transmission distance is 3000ft. Please note that the load capacity will drop down to 4W with general DC48V injector, so it’s recommended to use 60W or 75W poe injector in the receiver side.

Q.Why my POE device is offline when working with our EOC (IP Over Coax) Converter?

A.

Several main reasons are as follow: 1. EOC transmitter has to be connected to POE device (IPC/VoIP), and EOC receiver is connected to POE supply device (POE NVR, POESwitch or POE Injector). The reverse connection will not work. 2. It is used for point-to-point coax cable direct connection only, no BNC repeater/T-connect/splitter in the middle. 3. It may be caused by insufficient load capacity. The maximum load capacity is 21W in 300ft transmission which is sufficient to power a regular IP PTZ camera. The load capacity can be at least 11W in 1000ft transmission which is sufficient to power most of IP cameras or VoIP phones. 4. No power supply will also make it fail to work. Please be informed that EOC receiver has to be connected to an POE NVR, POE Switch or POE Injector to be powered.

Life saver

I have replaced 48 cameras and change them to POE. 6 of them were impossible to replace cables, because they are under ground, that is why I had to use this device to use POE camera. I wasn't sure at the first time, because to good to be true. At first I installed three of them about one month ago, and they where working fine, with good 4K quality. I realized the two of them randomly turning off, but one of them always turned off. with lot of troubleshooting, I found out that specific one had a bad BNC connection. I changed the BNC head, now they working perfectly. Remember to make a good BNC head, otherwise you will have problem on all of them, if they are in the same network. Anyway I bought 3 more, and installed them outside into LINOVISION EOC Converter Waterproof Box. They are working fine for now, lets see if in raining days or in the hot summer will be good too. cross our fingers. the quality of unit by itself is very good, well made.

Tested and working great!

First I ordered a box of 1000ft burial cable and setup a test in my home by terminating on the spool like in their video. It didn't work so I reached out to seller support who was very helpful and fast at their response. I tested my cable from each end and that's where I found my problem... it tested 1048ft from one end but the other end tested 4ft. Once I trimmed a few feet off it started working immediately. I tested 93mb/sec through the line at 1044ft. Perfect! It may test faster on a different network but for a far reach... I'll take 93mb any day. AWESOME PRODUCT!!!

EDIT: I added 2 images, the 480 is my base line and the 94 is with this adapter using a 3ft BNC cable for testing, very impressive!

Note: the original version is identical (even same packaging) to the dahua available on AliExpress for around $50. But for many people including myself the prime shipping is worth the extra few bucks.

Works as described for connecting PoE cameras over coax

Many years ago I hard wired a few CCTV cameras to the outer reaches of the house with coax. There were some challenging runs. When deciding to replace the old cameras with new IP PoE cameras, one of the things I looked forward to least was hauling Ethernet cable to those locations. Thus, I was hopeful these converters would work as described. And they did.

Got out the ladder, disconnected one of the CCTV cameras (including the 24v power). I mounted a 4x4 weatherproof electrical box to the siding, ran the coax into the box and connected it to the converter, then ran a small Ethernet patch cable to the IP PoE camera which I mounted onto the face of the electrical box. Went inside to the office where my PoE switch sits (and all coax cable runs terminate), plugged the other converter into the coax and ran an Ethernet patch cable to the switch. Much to my delight, it just worked like a charm. For me, this was well worth not having to make all of the tricky PoE cable runs by repurposing the existing coax.

Works perfectly. 90Mbps over coax to replace analog security camera with new digital 4k camera.

Installed and working with a Reolink 4k camera, its been reliable and fast through snow, wind, rain. It is installed inside its own plastic box painted to match the building. It takes a moment for it to fully connect, once it does the connection is stable. The run is about 75feet. I would say it has been durable, I need more time to tell. The small cheap dongles have the worlds cheapest metal inside the cat5 connectors that have a bimetal issue, this seems to have matched the standard metal used in most cat5 wires.

Time and Money Saver!

Solid performance from this set. Used to power a new 4MP IP camera over an older siamese RG59/16-2 cable (approximately 80' run) that could not be replaced without major demolition. Plugged directly into the NVR port supporting POE+ Our client saw no difference in the performance of the camera using this EOC balun set as compared to the other cameras operating on Cat6E. Make sure you have room on the camera end for the transmitter, moderate sized j-box or within the building structure itself.

I deperately needed to add 2 camera where there was only an RG59 run. Didn't even know this product existed, but it worked great for my needs. Will definitely buy more in the future.

Wired cameras without drilling new holes

I'm running three wired IP cameras off of a single coax line using this, and one of the cameras is 180 degrees so it's more like four cameras. I don't watch television anymore so I had an unused coax line to the outside of the house which allowed me to install wired cameras without drilling through walls or running cable through the attic. I made this work by purchasing a 53 volt PoE injector instead of using the NVR to power the cameras. This maximizes the amount of wattage through the line. (the Linovision documentation mentions this) Outside of the house I put the Linovision device and a PoE switch inside an electrical junction box. F to BNC adapters were also required of course. It works so well I can turn on the spotlights on all three cameras simultaneously.

Going the distance? Going for speed? This takes the Cake.

These are great. Needed to run a PoE Reolink camera 4 houses down to the end of the road. Through about 500ft of RG6 coax this didn’t disappoint. These will be my goto for longer runs without having to repeat in the middle of the run.

Extend WiFi Over Coax!

I wanted a wired connection (as wireless between floors wasn't great) from my Unifi router > POE switch on the first floor to an AP on the second floor, but I couldn't run ethernet cable through the walls. I had coax cable & jacks in my walls that I wasn't using (no cable TV), so I bought these to run my ethernet through the coax. I had to put $6 type F to BNC connectors on coax cables to connect the Linovisions, but those just screw on. I got POE and 100 mb speed to my Unifi AP without having to plug in a POE injector. Easy!

Game Changing Device to Upgrade Old Camera/Security Tech

Use these frequently to convert old CCTV cables in to Cat thus eliminating the need to pull new cable. Install is beyond easy. Frequently use with many different brand PoE switches to power. Have never had a failure and have deployed in some difficult and dirty industrial environments. The initial connection does seem slow so be patient. and definitely pay attention to how you hook them up. Got stalled diagnosing a setup not functioning and turned out had hooked up backwards. The receiver (Gray) should be hooked up to the PoE switch or NVR with PoE and the transmitter (Green) adapter needs will be the adapter hooked to the Camera or terminating device. the nomenclature that you are used to would make you feel as if the transmitter is "transmitting the signal to the receiver" to be converted for the device". If you rush through this will hang you up. But the product is top notch in quality and has not been a let down. The amount of time saved in pulling new Cat cable makes this worth every penny!

Handy dandy little problem solver

Saved me from running cat5 through buried conduit, along with exceeding ethernet distance limitations.
Works well with a cheap TP-Link Tapo C320WS and 5v PoE Splitter. Time will tell how long it lasts in a outdoors waterproof box. No issues streaming continuously over a week at 2K 15fps quality.

Absolutely Amazing 👏 Got me out of a jam!

These things got me out of a jam. Installed new cameras and they were all bnc cams, ran new lines for more bnc cams but when the next cams arrived they were poe, renting another lift and rewiring lines was out of the question, these poe over coax converters saved the day, install is super easy plug and play, video quality is awesome 4K, speed and connectivity is solid no dropped or freeze frames, definitely worth the price, if you need support they have youtube videos for you to follow but it's pretty straight forward, probably won't need it, instructions are printed right on the box.

Ethernet of coaxial

I’m coming up on about one year and I used these for a brand new IP camera installation with 30 total cameras using all old 20-year-old BNC cabling.
So far so good and these things saved an enormous amount of time, and not to mention I was able to get the job only because I said my company would use the existing old BNC cable in the building and not need to tear into the walls and run new Cat6 cabling for all 30 cameras.
There’s just not much history to go by with these devices so when I say they’ve been running for almost a year, I don’t know that there is any other commenters on here that have used them for longer than one year.
If I got five years out of them, I would be thrilled. That being said my company did save about $7000-$10,000 not having to pay for low-voltage installers to run each cable.
